CPQ is great but has a steep learning curve

What differentiates Revenue Cloud Advanced from other similar products?

The fact it is Salesforce's CPQ was a big win. We were able to purchase this module and manage it from within Salesforce.

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

It is INCREDIBLY flexible. You have the flexibility that salesforce offers in a CPQ product. There truly isn't anything I haven't been able to do.

What do you dislike most about this product?

It's incredibly difficult to manage once you start customizing. Out of box, great tools, tons of guides online for you to use for standard functionality, but once you start to deviate from that and begin to customize CPQ, you're really on your own with trial and error. Even online its tough to find CPQ user groups. Most people don't like administering this tool because it can be challenging to learn and maintain.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

100% try it before you commit. It is a tool that must be constantly maintained. Any change to pricing models, discounts, legal terms, documents, etc takes a skilled admin who is comfortable in CPQ to make those changes.

What differentiates Revenue Cloud Advanced from other similar products?

The amount of optimization and analytics you can do there is not a match for Salesforce for this in any other alternative, it basically is a god-send for opportunity management and is a very great tool for quotations.

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

The analytics part, if properly trained, can provide you great insights, even to the extent that help you make business decisions, there is a plethora of good aspects for SF, ease of integration with other apps like salesken, salestrail etc, ease of quote approvals and updation of discounts, running algorithms for renewal etc.

What do you dislike most about this product?

only when you are well trained can you unleash the full potential of SF, for someone new it takes time to learn and adapt, post that its a cake walk.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

go ahead , this is the best possible alternative out there, having worked for more than 5 years, i have at one point been the vendor for SF, and i can tell you even now, whatever your organization is, even if an established firm or a fast growing startup, this provides the right traction to all teams.
