What differentiates Proofpoint Essentials Email Security from other similar products?
Proofpoint essentials sets itself apart from the competition with it's reputation and record in the industry. They are one of the leading providers in the email security industry. Their filter catches almost all the threats we worry about our users seeing. It allows an easy way to administrate the setup and get users added.
What is your favorite aspect of this product?
It has a great filter that protects are email products from getting bad spam and phishing emails. The support staff has been very knowledgeable and helpful when we needed to reach out. There is a great feeling knowing that are emails are being protected by Proof Point. We can easily find emails in question in the portal and release if we need to. It has helped provide another layer of security that we are able to offer to our clients.
What do you dislike most about this product?
It can be hard to understand why some emails that got through when they look to be obvious phishing attempts. Support does not give out the reason their filter caught an email. The administrative portal can take some time to learn and train the engineers on. It seems like the console has not been updated for some time and new features are not released too often. It was difficult for it to get setup at first. After we setup the MX records it stopped email flow. It would be nice when we setup if there was no down time.
What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?
Look into other email security providers and test out each. Have their teams setup demos and go over all the features that they provide. Have your team provide feedback on the use and administrator aspects. Make sure you know the product well before you go live with it.

It's very easy to use. Adminsitrative functions are also pretty straightforward.
What is your favorite aspect of this product?
Reducing spam and phishing emails from hitting user's inboxes.
What do you dislike most about this product?
Honestly I don't really dislike anything.
What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?
Make sure that you educate your users in advance of rolling it out.
