What differentiates Salesforce Platform from other similar products?
What makes Salesforce stand out from the crowd is how flexible, scalable, and well-connected it is. While many CRMs and app platforms can feel boxed in, Salesforce opens things up with a low-code/no-code setup. Tools like Lightning App Builder, Flow, and the AppExchange make it easy for anyone from seasoned developers to non-technical users—to build and customize apps without needing to call in the IT cavalry every time. Another big plus is the Salesforce ecosystem. The AppExchange is packed with thousands of ready-to-use apps and integrations, so you don’t have to start from scratch.
What is your favorite aspect of this product?
What I love about the Salesforce Platform is how flexible it is. No matter the size of your business, whether you're just starting out or running a massive enterprise, Salesforce can adapt to fit your needs. It’s not one of those rigid systems that forces you to work a certain way. Instead, it gives you the freedom to build what works for you. One of the best parts? You don’t need to be a developer to create something meaningful. With tools like Flows, Lightning App Builder, and all the ready-made solutions on AppExchange, anyone can jump in and start building.
What do you dislike most about this product?
One thing I’ve found challenging about Salesforce is how overwhelming it can be for new users. There’s just so much packed into the platform—features, settings, customization options—and without a dedicated admin or solid training, it’s easy to feel lost at first. That steep learning curve can really slow down adoption, especially for smaller teams trying to get up and running quickly. Cost is another hurdle. Salesforce brings a lot to the table, but once you start adding licenses and extra features, the price can climb fast, making it tough for smaller businesses to justify. That said, I do think there’s real potential here.
What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?
If you're thinking about using Salesforce, my biggest piece of advice is to start with a clear sense of what you want to achieve. It’s a powerful platform with tons of features, but without a solid strategy, it’s easy to get overwhelmed. Whether your goal is to boost customer engagement, streamline internal processes, or improve reporting, having those priorities mapped out from the beginning will help you set things up in a way that actually supports your business. I also can’t stress enough how important it is to invest in training early on. It will help you maximize its features.
