The best platform for API testing
Likeliness to Recommend
What differentiates Postman from other similar products?
The user-friendly interface makes it easy to build, test, and debug API requests without needing to know how to code. It connects smoothly with tools such as GitHub, Jenkins, and Slack, which allows us to integrate API testing directly into our CI/CD pipelines. Setting it up is quick and straightforward, and sharing collections and environments with team members is simple. Overall, it enables me to test, document, and automate APIs seamlessly.
What is your favorite aspect of this product?
As a software tester, I consider Postman an essential tool in my workflow. It greatly assists with API testing by enabling the quick creation and execution of requests to thoroughly validate every aspect of an API's functionality. Setting up and configuring complex test scenarios is straightforward, and with the collection runner, I can chain multiple requests together, write JavaScript assertions to check response data and status codes, and manage variables across various environments. Postman also simplifies the process of integrating APIs and working within third-party applications. It goes well beyond being just a basic API client—Postman
What do you dislike most about this product?
Postman tends to use a lot of system resources, especially when handling several collections or running automated scripts. While it is well-suited for testing REST APIs, its functionality is limited to that area. The free version works very well for individual users, but for teams that need more advanced collaboration tools, the subscription fees can become a significant cost.
What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?
Postman is an excellent choice for individual developers working on REST API testing, as its free version offers a wide range of features. For teams, though, it's important to consider the subscription fees required to access collaboration tools. Additionally, when handling large or complex automation scripts, Postman can become quite resource-intensive, so this is something to keep in mind.

Powerful, Intuitive, and Essential for API Work.
Likeliness to Recommend
What differentiates Postman from other similar products?
What makes Postman stand out is how it manages to be both developer-friendly and team-oriented. A lot of API tools focus either on testing or documentation, but Postman brings everything together — from designing and testing to monitoring and sharing APIs — all in one place. That kind of end-to-end workflow support is rare. One of the biggest differentiators is the intuitive interface. You don’t need to be an expert to start using it. Whether you're sending a simple GET request or building complex test scripts, the UI makes it easy to navigate and understand what’s going on. It’s especially helpful for onboarding new developers.
What is your favorite aspect of this product?
My favorite aspect of Postman is how it simplifies the entire process of working with APIs. Whether I’m testing endpoints, debugging responses, or collaborating with teammates, everything feels smooth and intuitive. The ability to save requests, organize them into collections, and switch between environments with just a few clicks makes my workflow incredibly efficient. I also really appreciate the built-in scripting and automation features. Being able to write pre-request scripts and test scripts directly within the app saves me from having to build separate testing tools. It’s powerful, yet easy to learn.
What do you dislike most about this product?
While I genuinely appreciate how much Postman simplifies API development, there are a few things that can be frustrating. The biggest issue for me is performance lag, especially when working with large collections or sending requests with heavy payloads. The desktop app tends to slow down or freeze occasionally, and I’ve had to restart it more than once during long sessions. It’s not a deal-breaker, but it does interrupt the flow. Another thing I find limiting is that some of the most useful collaboration features are locked behind paid plans. For small teams or individual developers,
What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?
you're working with APIs regularly — whether you're a developer, tester, or even a product manager — I’d absolutely recommend giving Postman a try. Start with the free version; it’s surprisingly feature-rich and gives you a solid feel for what the tool can do. Spend some time exploring collections, environments, and scripting — those features alone can save you hours of manual work. One tip: organize your requests early. It’s easy to let things get messy when you’re testing a lot of endpoints, so using folders and naming conventions from the start will help keep your workspace clean and efficient.
