The UX for designing the workflow with drag and drop capability and connectors of variety adds to the flavor. Power Automate unlike its competitors, collaborates seamlessly with other techs and products and is a crown jewel of the Microsoft Power Platform. Integrates easily with SharePoint, Power Apps and Power BI to provide the complete process automation solution.
What is your favorite aspect of this product?
The ease of implementation is the best feature of Power Automate. Power Automate empowers citizen development and aids users to build application with minimum IT Support. The varied range of connectors available help in connecting to almost all SaaS technologies. Power Automate HTTP Connectors connects to REST APIs to provide ability to connect to all services exposed via REST. The Custom Connector feature, aids in creating and deploying custom connectors to connect to techs unavailable under normal connectors. The Premium connectors expose almost all new technologies and their services. This makes integrations seamless and easy to implement.
What do you dislike most about this product?
Power Automate although features a wide variety of connectors to connect to latest SaaS Solutions, the major demerit is connecting to On Prem solutions. Integrating Power Automate with On Prem SQL, Oracle, SharePoint solution is a painful task. It requires a complete server dedicated to the Power Platform Gateway service which serves as a gate for transactions between On Prem and the Microsoft Cloud. Utilizing Power Automate puts your data at risk as the data is sent out of company network in to the cloud.
What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?
Power Automate is extensively used to automate processes by workflows. Its a must have capability if your organization is targeting Citizen Development & Process Automation. You can definitely work out a pricing model strategy with Microsoft Vendor to customize the license model for your organization.
