What differentiates Microsoft Exchange Online Protection from other similar products?
The biggest differentiator is definitely how completely native and invisible the inbound filtering is because it catches massive amounts of spam and malicious attachments without requiring us to manage any complex on-premise gateway appliances which keeps our cloud infrastructure incredibly lean. Furthermore the built-in spoof intelligence is highly accurate right out of the gate and that also means we do not have to spend weeks manually tuning complex anti-phishing rules to protect our massive user base.
What is your favorite aspect of this product?
My absolute favorite aspect is the centralized message trace tool because I can instantly see the exact delivery path and filtering verdict for any specific email flowing through our tenant and that also saves my team hours of manual troubleshooting when someone claims an important data file was blocked. I also heavily rely on the automated outbound spam filtering which instantly detects if a compromised internal account is trying to blast bulk emails and furthermore automatically restricts them before it ever ruins our corporate domain reputation.
What do you dislike most about this product?
Sometimes the administration center interface can take an extra second or two to fully load up all the advanced threat policies when applying changes across thousands of users but it is honestly a very minor delay and I have found no major dislikes so far.
What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?
I highly recommend taking the time to carefully configure your bulk email thresholds and connection filter policies right from the start because once those baseline rules are properly set up the automated malware scanning will keep your corporate communications completely secure without any daily manual intervention.

It easy to get up and running from an admin perspective. Its cost effective. The administration web interface is relatively easy to use. Integrates perfectly with Exchange Online.
What is your favorite aspect of this product?
Seamless integration into O365 suite and configurability of rule/policies. GUI is simple and easy to use.
What do you dislike most about this product?
Would need add-on licenses of Defender for office 365,cloud, identity etc for extended capabilities such as safe links, impersonation.
