What differentiates Jira from other similar products?
The difference between Jira and every other project management software product out there, lies in the fact that Jira is built with agile based software development in mind. It provides my team with everything we need to be able to create user stories and plan our project sprints. Jira gives a big-picture view of task progress, in a way that a non-agile themed project management platform cannot.
What is your favorite aspect of this product?
I love how Jira integrates with vital development tools I use at work , like Gitlab and Slack. Jira Integrations like the aforementioned, reduces the need for me to continuously switch screens when working through code, With the integration between Jira and Gitlab, I am able to see what code repositories my team is working on in the Gitlab platform , without leaving the Jira software interface.
What do you dislike most about this product?
Although Jira is a fantastic project management software, it does not provide key add-ons we need for effective management of software projects, Therefore, we still need to utilize other tools for important project management aspects like content collaboration and knowledge management.
What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?
For agile focused software development teams, Jira is easily the best tool to go with.

What differentiates Jira from other similar products?
Jira allows for internal team separation of projects as well as external customer projects. This also each to function in their area of focus while also having the ability to see what other teams / customers are working on.
What is your favorite aspect of this product?
The ability for internal commenting / communication on external facing tickets. Our team often will post updates, send ideas, or propose communication all which can be referenced back to and solely viewed internal. This allows the client facing roles to still lead communications while getting valuable feedback from the team.
What do you dislike most about this product?
Jira does seem to still be a primarily engineering focused product vs. a total team collaboration tool. Our engineering track all work within Jira while our CX and Product teams use other platforms.
What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?
Create standards on project creation and ticketing names. This will save you significant time in the future / ease the implementation process.
