What is Strapi?

Strapi is an open-source, Node.js based, headless CMS that saves developers a lot of development time while giving them the freedom to use their favorite tools and frameworks. Strapi also enables content editors to streamline content delivery (text, images, video, etc) across any devices. It is 100% JavaScript, fully customizable and developer-first. Strapi gives developers an API (either Rest or GraphQL) to power anything from websites to mobile apps through an admin interface.

What differentiates Strapi from other similar products?

Docker images are provided which enable users to self-host their websites. Strapi offers to create custom, typesafe data types. It gives you an API while going out of the way. It is very fast and the community is very caring and cooperative.

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

The biggest advantage that Strapi has given us is the assignment of roles to specific users so that they can control/change only a certain set of data. It offers numerous functionalities and is very robust and fast. It is indeed one of the best open-source CMSs of the 21st century.

What do you dislike most about this product?

Unlike WordPress, which does not require the users to have a coding experience, Strapi users need to have a know-how of Java, so its deployment and configuration are difficult as compared to WordPress. It also offers lesser hosting options.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

If you want to taste something new that is open-source as well, you can go for Strapi. Expert developers can have an edge and they can enjoy the bounties to a greater extent as compared to someone who doesn’t know Java.

What differentiates Strapi from other similar products?

I find Strapi simple and convenient to use as it has an intuitive dashboard. It’s easily customizable. Other than that, it has a flexible framework. Any scale can be used on this Strapi software whether you have worked on anything. It’s quick with integration as well as data validation. There are many features on Strapi that can be used differently.

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

Strapi provides a NodeJS server which is the most famous programming language. It provides a powerful architecture to create all sorts of APIs. All plugins are easy to set up. Everything is available for you right on the dashboard or Strapi. It has the best scraping tools and all the data can be exported to JSON or XML files.

What do you dislike most about this product?

I have seen that there is limited TypeScript support in Strapi. I always found that feature missing in it. Although Strapi is free it’s still not an open-source. Also, there is a premium pro feature of Strapi but it’s not free of cost. It requires frequent updates.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

I recommend Strapi because it is the best tool for creating fast APIs with all the real-time updates with its modern features. Strapi is what you have been finding all along. Everyone can try their free version and then start up the setup process.
