What differentiates Slack from other similar products?
There are just too many features you get in slack but the best differentiator, hands down, is the number of software integrations you can do in slack to ease your day to day operations. In my previous organisation, we had almost 10-15 software’s integrated into slack, like Asana, confluence etc.
What is your favorite aspect of this product?
Favourite one would be the instant messaging feature. I love how quick and easy it to to search anybody from the entire organisation and drop them a quick text. So quick yet formal. Moreover, if I want to do a quick call instead of a quick message, that’s also possible.
What do you dislike most about this product?
I don’t really dislike anything because I believe it is continually improving. However, I believe screen sharing while huddles (what we call call quick calls in slack) do have a lot of improvement since it always gives me and the other person bandwidth issues.
What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?
Slack can solve the purpose of instant messaging, calls, files collaboration and much more. However, it is still advised to research on what your organisation needs and whether slack is solving that purpose for your entire organisation.
Pros
- Continually Improving Product
- Reliable
- Performance Enhancing
- Enables Productivity
