What differentiates SAMU from other similar products?
Samu is unique in its capability to assign one for one the repository with the graphical representation. It is designed to ensure data quality while still letting create graphical representations with lots of graphical features if managed properly. It differenciates from tools like Archi by its capability to create a structured data repository, which is important if you want to give contribution accesses not only to architects. And it differenciates from tools like MEGA by its ease of access and configuration.
What is your favorite aspect of this product?
Samu has a very intuitive UI for the end users (contributors and read only users), especially on the data repository side : preconfigured filters are awesome with the ability to have a parameter ; the fact that you can configure the columns on the repository and apply filters and ordering ; the very detailed user rights configuration. It is great that all the complexity of such a tool is only handled by administrators and lets a great experience for end users.
What do you dislike most about this product?
I think some features are a bit clunky : the search engine (should ignore diacretics, difference between serching "user" and "management" or "user management") ; the graphical features (moving icons on a report, selecting arrows, etc.) While administrating the tool, it is sometimes hard to debug.
What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?
If you are looking to store architectural data in a structured data model and want to keep the hand on the data model to let it evolve etc, it is a very good product.
