Works Best When Team Already Lives in MS Ecosystem

What differentiates Microsoft Whiteboard from other similar products?
For me the biggest difference is how naturally it fits into the Microsoft environment. A lot of whiteboard tools have more advanced features but with Microsoft Whiteboard there was almost no friction, getting people into a session because everyone was already using Teams. We could jump into a meeting, sketch ideas, leave notes behind and come back to them later without needing another platform or account.
What is your favorite aspect of this product?
Probably how easy it is to start using. There was not really a learning process where people had to figure everything out. Someone shares a board during a meeting and everybody starts contributing within minutes. For brainstorming sessions, architecture discussion and quick planning meetings it removed a lot of unnecessary back and forth.
What do you dislike most about this product?
When boards starts getting larger everything feels clean and organized at first, but after multiple sessions the canvas can become crowded and finding older content takes more effort than it should. I also feel some advanced whiteboarding capabilities are still behind compared to a few of the more specialized competitors.
What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?
If your organization is already using Microsoft 365 and Teams, definitely give it a try before looking at more complex whiteboarding platforms. it handles brainstorming, planning sessions and collaborative discussions really well. Just keep in mind that teams needing heavy workshop features or very large boards may eventually want something more specialized.
Pros
- Helps Innovate
- Reliable
