What differentiates Microsoft Sharepoint from other similar products?

We may centralize information so that all employees have access to it. It is used by our department to create lists, share documents, and other resources with people outside of our department. My teams must complete presentations and other papers. SharePoint allows team members to collaborate on the file and allows several people to modify it at the same time. We establish the working draft, and then all comments and modifications are directed to a single document. Because there is only one version, version control is simple.

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

The folder structure is simple to construct and utilize, and it is extremely simple to share the URL to a file/folder to facilitate team collaboration. My firm may also use SharePoint to build secure collaboration folders for non-company colleagues to upload/download/edit files. Employees may use Sharepoint to exchange corporate information, collaborate, and access shared resources. We are urged to use it so that our colleagues may communicate internal corporate information with one another.

What do you dislike most about this product?

Moving and copying folders/files from a SharePoint folder might be difficult. Users may also open SharePoint folders with the normal Microsoft File Manager in an earlier version of SharePoint. This makes it much easier to move files and other items into and out of the SharePoint environment. This might possibly be due to the browser being used.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

I would advise other businesses to explore Microsoft SharePoint since it provides corporate solutions. To better serve their customers, they are always updating and inventing their goods. My organization has utilized and continues to employ a variety of file management interfaces (for example, SharePoint and Teams). SharePoint is more "professional" than Teams and offers a better overall atmosphere for genuine work collaboration (such as allowing many users to edit a file at the same time).

Pros

  • Continually Improving Product
  • Reliable
  • Performance Enhancing
  • Enables Productivity

I can share files and documents securely

Likeliness to Recommend

9 /10

What differentiates Microsoft Sharepoint from other similar products?

Microsoft SharePoint is utilized by our organization for developing focal themes for communication, disseminating files, contracts, financial papers, and onboarding information. It's a place for the staff to hang out and show off office photos, make public service announcements, and hold contests. Since it works well with both Teams and Office, it's a great fit for us.

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

The Microsoft Office and Microsoft Teams suites can be integrated with the help of Microsoft SharePoint, which is a useful tool in its own right. The apps work well together, and employees may share files with one another without worrying about the security or maintenance of a central file server. There are better options than Microsoft SharePoint, thus I don't usually recommend it on its own. It functions effortlessly when used simultaneously with the whole range of tools.

What do you dislike most about this product?

Sites, libraries, and files rarely sync successfully to my local machine. For some, it has functioned perfectly. Others don't have their data synchronized, the ability to sync is occasionally disabled momentarily, and it can even be locked for a single user. The majority of the time it doesn't work and it's inconsistent.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

The fact that SharePoint works so well with Microsoft Office is the primary reason I would suggest using it. Other, more "contemporary" solutions are available that allow for simultaneous editing, auto-versioning, alerts, messaging, and other forms of team collaboration. When compared to competing, more affordable, cloud-based technologies, SharePoint's functionalities feel clunky and out of date.

Pros

  • Continually Improving Product
  • Enables Productivity
  • Efficient Service
  • Acts with Integrity
