Bringing data to life

What differentiates Microsoft Power BI from other similar products?
Compared to just running sql queries, power bi makes the data accessible to people. it is the best because it transforms dull rows into interactive stories. I love that I can piece together what-if parameters to see how changing a pricing point impacts our total revenue, in real time.
What is your favorite aspect of this product?
Originally though it had the integration with excel which is actually a massive positive you can Analyse in Excel your power bi datasets and that's perfect for those people who still want to do manual pivot tables. homely! the visuals are very responsive, and since i can customize every single color and font so heavily, that means i can make reports not looks super standard power bi.
What do you dislike most about this product?
The community visuals can be a mixed bag some are great, while others are buggy or require an additional subscription, which is frustrating when you're on the hunt for one specific feature.
What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?
It is the best driver of action from the data. because beauty isn’t all that matters; making good choices does.
Pros
- Continually Improving Product
- Reliable
- Client Friendly Policies

What differentiates Microsoft Power BI from other similar products?
the difference is like moving from a bicycle to a rocket ship. best of all because it treats data as a dynamic narrative instead of a static table. i have yet to find another platform that allows for quite this much customization free and on desktop.
What is your favorite aspect of this product?
it’s just how they’ve done time intelligence that is great. it’s just a couple of clicks for year-over-year comparisons, not writing complex formulas. i also like the "app" functionality where you can package up multiple reports for your users. the end-user experience is kept very clean and professional.
What do you dislike most about this product?
auto-naming fields when you drag them in can be chaotic. here i often spend a lot of time to rename "sum of sales amount" to as little as simply just "sales" so my charts look ok.
What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?
it’s the best time investment for your career if you are in any form of an analyst role. and if you learn it, you’ll be invaluable.
Pros
- Enables Productivity
- Efficient Service
- Saves Time
- Respectful
