What is your favorite aspect of this product?

I really like the data modelling capabilities Power BI offers, along with the DAX (Data Analysis Expressions) language. This enables the generation of many types of calculations and measures that can be used in several reports and dashboards. The ability to have relationships between tables, hierarchies and time intelligence is an incredibly good starting point for the analysis. This feature helps the user move past the surface of data visualization and into the deeper waters of data exploration and predictive analytics.

What do you dislike most about this product?

There is one thing that I really dislike about Power BI and that is the steep learning curve to advanced features. Basic functions are pretty easy to learn; however, learning how to write complex DAX formulas, optimize query performance, and build sophisticated data models is not something that new users will find easy. This learning curve can be an issue of not being able to fully utilize the tool in organizations that do not have BI specialists.

For anyone thinking of using Power BI, I would suggest first downloading the free version to see how it works and if it will solve your organizational needs. You should also take advantage of the many online resources such as Microsoft documentation, forums, and videos to learn more about the tool. Begin with small projects and work your way up to more complex features as you gain confidence in using the tool.

Power BI gives me the freedom to build customized visualisations. As a result of this , my organisation has successfully designed and implemented proprietary data visuals based on our internal team and departmental needs. This has made it simpler and quicker to make data backed decisions.

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

Smooth integration with Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft software program. From experience, no other data visualization platform integrates with Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft data sources, better than Power BI.

What do you dislike most about this product?

Importing data from non - Microsoft sources is not as fluid as it is on other leading data visualization platforms. Also, effective use of advanced features on Power BI requires coding knowledge to an extent.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

For me , I still believe that Microsoft Power BI is the most easy to pickup and understand data visualization software.
