What differentiates IBM Db2 from other similar products?
Db2 is built for heavy-duty enterprise workloads. It can manage high volumes of transactions while also supporting advanced analytics in the same system. Its data compression and query optimization save both space and processing time, which is a big plus at scale.
What is your favorite aspect of this product?
For me, the reliability in transaction processing is the highlight. Even when systems are under stress, Db2 keeps data accurate and consistent. That level of stability is what I trust it for.
What do you dislike most about this product?
Setup and maintenance are not simple. It’s powerful, but without experienced admins, it can feel complex and sometimes intimidating.
What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?
If your environment demands strong transactional integrity and the ability to handle very large datasets, Db2 is worth it. Just plan for the extra learning curve and make sure you have the right expertise on your team.
