What differentiates Google Vault from other similar products?
Google Vault's primary differentiator is its seamless integration with the Google Workspace ecosystem. It's not a third-party tool, it's a native service that allows for simple eDiscovery, data retention, and legal holds on data from Gmail, Drive, Chat, and other Google Workspace apps.
What is your favorite aspect of this product?
My favorite aspect of Google Vault is its incredible simplicity and deep integration with the Google Workspace ecosystem. I love that it's not a separate, complicated tool, it's just there, built into the Admin console.
What do you dislike most about this product?
I'd say my biggest dislike is its limited scope. While it's great for Google Workspace, it doesn't provide a comprehensive solution for data from other platforms like Microsoft 365 or on-premise sources.
What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?
If you're already in the Google Workspace ecosystem, I'd highly recommend Google Vault. It's the most seamless and effective way to handle your data retention, legal holds, and eDiscovery needs. The fact that it's a native service means there's no complex setup or third-party integrations to worry about. It simplifies what can be a very complicated process, making data governance feel almost effortless.
