What differentiates Google Authenticator from other similar products?
!) It's the only Major Authenticator that treats user's phone as the "security root," not the cloud. Secrets usually remains on your device, sync is optional, no default cloud dependency. 2) It prioritizes long term survival over feature competition. It is built to survive platform changes, survive vendor ecosystems, continue working even if services changes
What is your favorite aspect of this product?
1) I love its simplicity. No complex setup, no UI clutter, zero learning curve. 2) No ads, no noise, it just feels clean. 3) It is universally supported, every websites accepts it
What do you dislike most about this product?
Poor organization for people with a lot of MFA entries, like more than 20. The list gets messy, there's no folder system, no search, no tagging. It just becomes hard to navigate
What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?
Treat it as one layer of security as it only provides TOTP MFA

- Fair
- Altruistic
- Reliable
- Trustworthy
