Easy Multi-Cloud Migration with Minimal Downtime
Likeliness to Recommend
What differentiates Datamotive EasyHybrid Disaster Recovery from other similar products?
I have used Microsoft ASR (Azure Site Recovery) and Azure Migrate before, but I feel Datamotive is simpler and straight forward. In Microsoft services sometimes the configuration steps are too complex and lot of dependency with Azure specific environment. But Datamotive work across multi cloud like AWS, GCP and even on-prem without lock in. The speed of replication also I find better, and less manual effort.
What is your favorite aspect of this product?
For me the most favourite is the automation and how less downtime is required during migration. In Microsoft tools I had to spend more time testing and validating failover. In Datamotive, it was more seamless, and I felt confident that my workload will come up fine. Also, I like the dashboard which show me clear progress, not too complicated like Azure portal sometimes.
What do you dislike most about this product?
One thing I don't like much is that documentation is not as big or detailed as Microsoft services. With Azure services, lot of community blogs and articles are available online. With Datamotive, mostly I need to depend on their support team. Also, initial UI learning curve is there, since it's not as polished as big cloud providers, but once you learn it, it's fine.
What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?
If you are already inside Microsoft ecosystem and not planning to move out, then maybe Azure ASR or Azure Migrate is enough for you. But if you want flexibility and multi cloud migration or DR, then Datamotive is much better choice in my view. My suggestion is to do a small POC first, you will see how quick the setup is and how smooth the migration run.
Pros
- Continually Improving Product
- Performance Enhancing
- Enables Productivity
- Client Friendly Policies

What differentiates Datamotive EasyHybrid Disaster Recovery from other similar products?
Datamotive stands out with its cloud-agnostic live workload mobility, allowing seamless migration and disaster recovery across major cloud platforms. It supports VM-level migration with minimal downtime and no vendor lock-in. Its automation, security, and compliance features make it ideal for enterprises looking for scalable, resilient, and efficient multi-cloud strategies.
What is your favorite aspect of this product?
My favorite aspect of Datamotive is its cloud-agnostic live migration feature, which enables seamless and near real-time workload transfers across different cloud platforms without downtime. This flexibility, combined with strong automation, data integrity, and security, makes it ideal for managing multi-cloud environments efficiently and with minimal manual intervention.
What do you dislike most about this product?
The main drawback of Datamotive is its complex initial setup, which may require strong technical expertise, especially for organizations new to multi-cloud environments. Additionally, documentation could be more detailed, particularly for advanced configurations. These factors might lead to a longer learning curve for some users during early adoption.
What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?
If you're considering Datamotive, ensure your team has a good understanding of multi-cloud environments and virtualization. Start with a pilot migration to familiarize yourself with the platform’s features. Leverage their support and documentation for setup.
