What differentiates Boomi from other similar products?
The drag and drop functionality of the integration shapes. And hand-in-hand with that is the utilization of the Javascript and Groovyscript for complex algorithms. The pre-defined and intuitive parameters for API integration may it be from pre-built partner connectors or even generic ones. The amount of configuration across all Boomi modules yet it has the simplicity of the UI/UX that accommodates technical and businesspeople providing integration administration.
What is your favorite aspect of this product?
The simplicity of UI and the extensiveness of the configurations that you could do. The incorporation of scripting languages to aide complex business processes and flows. The straightforwardness of using caches between parent and child processes, as well as through branches. It has the least hardware requirement for an Atom to be deployed in (i.e. can be deployed to Raspberry Pi).
What do you dislike most about this product?
The small amount of community threads or discussions pertaining to issues experienced by consultants implementing the integration. The time it takes for another community member or a Boomi expert to answer the inquiries or issues at hand posted. This is quite rampant when using Boomi Flow. There are very little trainings, how-to guides and sample applications when developing integrations in native Boomi Flow as well as Boomi Flow with Boomi Integration.
What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?
Users would be able to fully utilize Boomi when they mastered the functions of caching, branching, extensible properties and, at least, basic scripting in any case that the default functions of the shapes could not cover the use cases needed by the process flows of the client. Practice, practice, practice: if there is a process that you could automate through Boomi, please do so.
