Major Market Shift on the Horizon as Popularity of SaaS Talent Acquisition Systems Grows

Author(s): Gord Harrison

London, ON – March, 27 2012 – McLean & Company’s recently released Talent Acquisition Systems (TAS) Vendor Landscape report names Taleo, iCIMS, SilkRoad and Kenexa as market Champions. According to the report, the market is in the middle of a revolution as organizations look to replace their recruiting systems with software-as-a-service (SaaS) technology.

”Smaller vendors sensed an opportunity in this market to offer a SaaS-based TAS and have gained traction as organizations get more comfortable with the Cloud,” said Amanda Stirling, Research Analyst, McLean & Company.   “The demand for SaaS-based TAS is only going to grow and McLean & Company predicts that there will be a major market shift over the next few years as big players look to acquire this technology through acquisitions.

“Taleo, a Champion in the report, differentiates itself with proven successes and a robust, flexible and easy-to use solution for the mid-market. Taleo is now the largest provider of SaaS TAS and has the industry’s largest ecosystem of customers, candidates and partners. Due to Taleo’s success, Oracle has taken an interest in the company and has an acquisition deal set to close mid this year.”

With over 1000 customers worldwide and a retention rate of 97%, iCIMS is ranked as a Champion in the report. The third largest provider in the SaaS TAS market, iCIMS has a commitment to make business easier for SMBs with intuitive end-user interfaces and according to the report, is known for its high quality customer service.

SilkRoad may be newer to the space, but the company excels due to highly configurable career sites, ease-of-use and clean dashboards. This Champion has over 2000 customers in 20 locations globally and provides a cross-industry solution for mid-sized to large enterprises.

A pioneer in the TAS market, Kenexa capitalizes on its long history and ranks as a Champion in the report. They are highly experienced in recruiting and service over 4000 customers in more than 200 countries. Support for these customers is noted as quite good, with each client having a dedicated client service manager.

Hireology has been recognized with the “Innovation Award” in the report. Although the newest vendor evaluated, Hireology is trying to reinvent the way companies select talent by building easy to use, intuitive platforms that use data and analytics to drive hiring. Currently an Emerging Player in the report, Hireology is pegged to be a Champion in years to come.
